Welcome to Múinteoir Mairéad's Room.

This classroom is all about nurturing the pupils while also preparing them for secondary school. The pupils are engaged in a more challenging curriculum. They learn how to read and write all different genres of English, they use Google for Education to type out and publish their writing. They continue to become more confident in speaking and using Irish, creating their own sentences and stories as Gaeilge. They engage in fun, challenging maths concepts and become confident in using maths talk to explain their thinking. 

For History, Geography and Science, they broaden their knowledge of local and world subject areas and engage in project work to develop their skills as a scientist, historian and geographer.

P.E. is always a fun-filled lesson, teaching key physical skills and how to play with respect and fairness.

SPHE is an important subject area in teaching the pupils how to take care of their bodies and minds. We practise mindful activities on a weekly basis. We teach pupils the Stay Safe programme and Anti-Bullying lessons.

The Arts subjects, visual arts, music and drama in the senior room are all about developing the skills they have already learned throughout their previous years. Pupils are given the skills and freedom to be creative, have fun and develop unique talents.

Past pupils frequently return to visit the school as the warm, respectful and nurturing relationships built up over the eight years continue to flourish and develop.
