St. Mary’s Parochial School News
We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter break! All our pupils have returned to school with great energy and an eagerness to learn.
School Fundraising: ‘Read and Raise’ We have officially launched our ‘Read and Raise’ campaign. Pupils are challenged to engage in daily reading sessions, and we invite families, friends, and local businesses to sponsor their efforts. All proceeds will go toward purchasing new playground equipment.

Active School News Swimming lessons have commenced this term, and the children are making great splashes! We are also continuing our rugby training sessions with IRFU coach, Drew.
Classroom Highlights
- Junior Room: Múinteoir Katie has been leading some wonderful playful lessons. After reading ‘Barty’s Scarf’, the children used shredded paper to create their very own Barty the sheep!
- Middle Room: Our budding historians have been studying the Vikings with Múinteoir Laura. To bring the era to life, they sculpted their own Viking Longships out of clay. They have also been invited to see St. Oliver’s production of Mary Poppins—a musical experience we are all anticipating.
- Senior Room: Pupils are exploring the Renaissance, specifically studying Leonardo da Vinci’s use of perspective. They have applied these techniques to create their own impressive artworks.
In the Garden Our senior pupils are busy tending to our raised beds—weeding, potting bedding plants, and sowing sunflower seeds. We are also enjoying the beautiful blossoms on our fruit trees!
To make the most of the recent sunshine, we have added an extra 10 minutes of yard time every morning. It’s been a wonderful, bright start to our days!

Condolences
Finally, on behalf of the entire school community, we wish to express our deepest sympathies to Willie O’Regan on the sad passing of his mother. Willie very kindly volunteers his time to cut our school lawn, and our thoughts are with him and his family during this difficult time.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
